About John Nicholas

John has over 25 years of experience managing multi-asset class portfolios for high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors. Prior to Chicago Partners, he managed alternative investment funds at Guggenheim Investment Advisors. John also has held senior portfolio management positions at Vulcan Capital, HFR Asset Management, Morgan Stanley, and Harris Trust, where he built custom hedge fund portfolios for institutional investors and managed investments for some of the nation’s wealthiest families across a range of asset classes, including equity, fixed income, hedge funds, real assets, private equity, and venture capital.

John is a board member of the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art and an active Harvard Club of Chicago and HBS Chicago Angels member.

John earned a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University. John has also achieved the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
